Out of State Extension provides coverage at the mandatory limits for guest occupants who are:
not residents of the state, and who are injured outside of New York.

  5. The named insured, resident relatives and guest occupants are covered by this coverage.

Collision

Pays for loss to your covered vehicle when it collides with another object or overturns. We will also pay for a collision loss to any non-owned vehicle, or to a vehicle you have rented other than a vehicle rented for use in connection with your business or employment, while that vehicle is in your custody, or while you are operating it.

Custom Parts and Equipment

Custom Parts or Equipment coverage provides up to $1,000 of coverage for certain parts and equipment that were not original manufacturer installed. If you buy collision or comprehensive coverage, or both, $1,000 of Custom Parts or Equipment coverage is automatically provided. If you need more coverage, up to $4,000 additional Custom Parts or Equipment coverage may be purchased.

For example, if $1050 is the desired coverage amount, you should subtract the $1000 already included with the Comprehensive and Collision coverages to calculate the amount of additional Custom Parts and Equipment coverage needed. For this example, you would enter $50. If the Custom Parts and Equipment value you are entering is more than $4,000, the vehicle must be rated as Stated Amount. Personal Injury Protection

These coverages include up to a $50,000 per accident for:

  1. Medical expenses
  2. Work Loss Benefits: Loss of earnings from work up to $2,000 per month (unless you have chosen PIP with "Excludes Work Loss Benefits")

Residual Bodily Injury Liability

New York is a "no fault" state. Personal Injury Protection (PIP) is the primary coverage and each insured would first file a claim for bodily injury through his own insurance company under his PIP coverage. Residual Bodily Injury (RBI) pays for noneconomic damages (such as "pain and suffering") and for death to others when you are at fault for an accident. Noneconomic damages can be recovered if the injury is serous enough to exceed the "verbal threshold" such as those injuries involving loss of limb, dismemberment, or disablement of more than 90 days. PIP does not have to be exhausted before a claimant having these types of injuries can collect under the at-fault party's RBI.

Common Exclusions (No Coverage)

  8. Bodily injury or property damage resulting from your operation or use of a vehicle owned by you, other than a covered vehicle
